Annual driver renewal reminder

Each year, any individual who is driving on UAF business must update their driving form and present it to their supervisor for record-keeping. Information about becoming a UAF-approved driver can be found on the UAF Risk Management website.

If you drive on UAF business and have not completed a driving form, please visit the risk management website to determine if you are a Category 1 or Category 2 driver and to complete the appropriate form. If you are either a Category 1 or Category 2 driver completing an annual renewal, you may submit the Category 2 driver form to your supervisor. Driving forms may be requested by Environmental, Health, Safety, and Risk Management (EHSRM) at any time and must be furnished by the supervisor upon request.

Some requirements for driving on UAF business may be waived. However, the requirement to possess or obtain an Alaska State driver鈥檚 license (within 90 days of moving to the state) may not be waived due to Alaska State statutes. Please communicate with your supervisor about when your annual renewal is due.

If you have any additional questions about becoming a UAF-approved driver or renewing your annual approval, please contact EHSRM Safety Officer David Vazquez or Risk Manager Becca Whitman.
