IPS Connect Conference Starts Next Week in Cordova

This is a four-day event that will bring together isolated grid experts from around the world for networking and expert panel discussions that include participants from Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Australia, and Greenland. Conferees include national lab experts, remote grid operators, supply chain representatives and others working on isolated grids.
Panels session will cover the latest developments in integration and technology from vehicle-to-grid to hydrogen fuel cells, and share lessons learned as well as discuss the opportunities and challenges facing remote grid operators. The conference also includes in-person facility tours of Cordova鈥檚 own innovative microgrid.
Alaska is a world leader in the integration of renewables into remote grids and Cordova, located in scenic Prince William Sound on world class fishing grounds, is home to a pioneering hybrid system that generates over 70% of the town鈥檚 power for some 2,600 residents using advanced grid controls, run-of river hydropower, diesel generators and a lithium-ion energy storage system.
