New Article Explores Forest Health and Powering Alaska Native Communities

An article recently published in Western Forester explores the use of locally harvested wood to heat schools in communities around Alaska.

The article titled , authored by ACEP’s Daisy Huang, U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service’s Dave Nicholls and UAF Cooperative Extension Service’s Art Nash, provides case studies for seven predominantly Alaska Native communities, and shares the “triple bottom line” financial, environmental and social benefits.
