Wilber Attends Microgrid Forum
Last week, ACEP engineer Michelle Wilber attended the in Washington, D.C.
Wilber heard from and networked with researchers, thought leaders, utilities, energy providers, project managers, equipment suppliers and others about the latest technological and design developments for hybrid renewable energy microgrids as well as implementation and operation of such grids.
A workshop on the final day focused on economic valuation and financing. Wilber said people across the U.S. are highly interested in the resilience and environmental benefits of microgrids. However, they face economic and regulatory hurdles. Thus, Alaska鈥檚 existing microgrids can indeed be great places to quickly deploy and test new technologies that may face additional hurdles in other parts of the world.
