ACEP Announces a New Intern

This week we are excited to welcome Rachael Teter to the ACEP team as our new intern in the Anchorage office. Rachael is a student at the 夜色福利 studying mathematics and physics and plans to receive a Masters in Secondary Education by 2020. She developed a passion for science and engineering during her 2014 summer participation with the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program Acceleration Academy. The following summer she spent six weeks at the Minority Introduction to Engineering and Sciences at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This intensive program gave her in-depth experience into engineering, math and physics that set her on her path toward her future. In addition to math and science Rachael has a great affection for coaching Native Youth Olympics. In high school she participated in the games before becoming an assistant coach for two years and currently serves as a volunteer official. Rachael will be working on updating and adding datasets to the Alaska Energy Data Gateway (AEDG) as part of ACEP's AEDG Improvement Project for the Alaska Microgrid Partnership effort. The aim of the AEDG Improvement Project is to increase the accessibility and scope of content related to Alaska community human, financial, and technical capacity for undertaking energy projects. We are excited to have Rachael as the newest member of the ACEP team.
